Range Rings App Details

Version 2.0 is a huge update. We have greatly improved the UI to make the app easier to use. We have added support for ranges in meters and the ability to search for and save locations. You can now rotate the map with two fingers instead of having to rotate the device. We also added Clicks as a display unit. As always, please give us feedback and let us know how we can make this app your go to ballistic solution. ** UPDATED LOCATION CALCULATION ** We heard your feedback, and improved the location calculation and added Mil-based information. Please keep the feedback coming!! Range Rings by Kopis Mobile is meant to be used when a shooter needs to quickly determine ballistics solutions in a number of directions, for multiple landmarks, instantaneously. This gives the shooter a quick mental reference as he moves between shots quickly. Other ballistics apps only provide a single shot solution. When you start the app, your location is found and ballistics solutions are calculated based on the most recent weapon and weather information. The solutions, in the form of distance and drop, are then displayed in rings overlaid on a map of the immediate area. You can add and edit your weapons configurations via the Weapons tab. Weather (wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity) is automatically downloaded and used in the calculations, or edited manually on the Weather tab. The appearance of the rings, including their units, color, spacing, and distance covered is all managed on the Settings tab. Display drop and windage in inches, MOA, Mil Dot, or Clicks.

  • Terrible!!

I bought this app and it was not worth the $29.99 I spent on it. I wish I would have bought something better. Anything done better than...
  • Dissappointed

Metric units need to be an option. Location center point either needs to be more accurate or make it able to be moved and then locked. The repeating range numbers clutter the display. The visibility of the range rings themselves need to be brighter. As it stands it has very limited usefulness.
  • HPS location way off

    By Brownie21Plus
The GPS location in the app is off at least 20 yards from my actual location on the map. The Maps application on my iPhone 5 shows my location within 5 feet on the map. App is useless until this is fixed. I'm sure this will eventually fixed. Updated: checked again day later and the 100 yard range ring passes exactly through my actual location. Totally unusable app at this time. Downgrading to 1 star.
  • Needs a few things

Good app. Needs a few things though. Mil-based measurements are a must and I am a bit surprised it was overlooked. Just messing with it a little, I've had issues of the gps not marking my correct location. Right now it's about 150m off. It's going to happen, so having an option to manually place shooting location is a must. Being able to preload map data and having MGRS capability would be beneficial too. Good app for civilians on the range or hunters, but still needs a few more features to market it to the military.
  • Units of measure.

Just purchased. I like it all! But I would like to mils in the units of measure as well. I use mils in the Marine Corps and on my personal guns back home. So do a lot of hunters use mils too. As well as shooters from all sorts of shooting. Please add mils in the next/first update!
