Can’t find link to get support on app problems. Harvests are messing up with wrong report for that date. Also, can’t select weapon from weapon locker-only have one choice out of three in locker. These problems need to be fixed. Overall, pretty good app.
  • Great app until you want to stop paying to use it!

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now and its worked well for me. The only fault I’ve found is that the phone app and pc app are not in sync for the Huntzone. You can have both open at the same time and they will predict different wind directions. This hampers hunt planning. I contacted Huntstand to let them know. They did not seem to understand the issue, but claim the phone app is correct. Since the phone app is the last reference before choosing blind locations, I have little choice but to trust they are right. Other than that, it works great and I will continue to use it.

  • No Property Boundaries & Developer Support

Last night all property boundaries disappeared! There are no boundary lines visible at any zoom level in any function of the app (they are available in my areas) Purchased boundaries lines are visible but nothing else I am disappointed with “support” regarding this issue and the issue below. Standard answer is “reach out, we will help”. A person reaches out and the problem doesn’t get resolved or you get no response. I might add I have been a user since 2014 After reaching out to support on multiple occasions my problem still has not been corrected. I was told by support that the issue would be resolved with the next update and it still is not resolved (almost 2 months later) Wind speed and direction updates when it wands to..... not when I need it to I have emailed multiple screenshots of the weather update problem/issue that I am continuing to experience and after 3 updates no resolution, no true fix. I can have reached out as requested, with no results from the developer

After this last update your property info is all wrong. I rely on this info for hunting purposes. You have to get this fixed ASAP.

  • Could be Organized Better

Hunt Stand is a fair GPS app, but it could certainly be organized better and has some minor annoyances. I have yet to find a GPS app as well thought out as Tremble Outdoors, but unfortunately that app was discontinued. All in all HuntStand works, but the downside to these apps is once you commit to a hunting GPS map to mark all your various sightings and waypoints you are kind of stuck with it, as it is very time consuming to try to move data from app to app. After Tremble folded up, there really doesn’t seem to be another good hunting app, and several I have tried definitely weren’t as good as simply using google Maps. Below is a summary of what you can do with HuntStand and what could be better. Features (the good): +The property boundary tool is the main attraction for this app. They way it is set up does have a down side (more on that below), but it is very handy to be able to reference where property lines are for a limited number of properties. +Categories of waypoints. Another upside is the pre-categorized waypoints. Again, their is a big down side to how they organized this as well, but generally speaking having categories of waypoints that are shown by different symbols is handy. It’s just not as handy as it should be had the designers put a little forethought into end use. +Mapping/Measurement. The app also includes handy features like the ability to quickly measure between map features, and roads, trails, food plots, bedding areas, etc can be traced out or outlined using the drawing tools. Needs Improvement: -As mentioned above, there is a very annoying downside as to how the “properties” are handled. I want to see property lines, but having to manage each property separately keeps me from being able to see features of adjacent properties on the same screen. One large timber tract I hunt is technically 5 different properties, and it isn’t uncommon to be hunting near the boundary of three of them. Trying to look up previous sightings and sign is a headache to swap in and out of each property to see these waypoints. If you marked a waypoint while under “Tract A”, for example, even if the waypoint was across the line on “Tract B”, will not be visible when viewing “Tract B” features. This makes it easy to forget when marking points to swap to the appropriate property, and later makes it easy to overlook these points. -Sightings/Harvests/Waypoints- This arbitrary categorization is annoying. Each of these have their own entire tool within the app. Sightings and harvests are not visible on the map tool screen, and map tool waypoints such as roost areas, gobbling heard, scratch areas, rubs, scrapes, and other “sign” isn’t visible on the sightings screen. Meaning if I categorize a roosted gobbler I see under sightings, I won’t see it with other waypoints I marked under the roosted gobbler heard category. Seeing sign and sightings on the same screen is pretty much the whole point of marking these items so you develop a comprehensive picture of travel routes, feed areas, and sleep areas for game to ultimately plan hunts, and best manage properties. It is just unnecessarily annoying to artificially separate those into different tools under the same app. I really wish they would fix that. Both of the above should really be simplified into one overall comment. The app should really have the feature to view all waypoints (including harvests and sightings) across all properties on a single screen view. The property lines are great, but that should be the only thing that changes when a different property is selected. The current organization is very clunky. Some further wish list items for a hunting GPS app: As I mentioned above, I really loved the Tremble Outdoors app before it was discontinued. It had several features that are rare for GPS apps (especially cheap/free ones). First, it had the capable of opening events such as a hike, scout, ride or hunt. As part of the event, it allowed you to keep notes and provide a summary. For hunting, this made for a great journal tool to record conditions, times, and thorough notes concerning behavior, sightings, etc. I used this for deer, duck, Turkey, and even pheasant hunting. Tremble also had a track feature that would record your tracks during the event. That way you could easy see the routes you took and it really makes putting things visually together for a property much easier. It also recorded how far you walked/rode, and the elevation profile, so it was handy as a fitness app, as well. Tremble could also be uploaded to Google Earth, so at least when the app was discontinued, I didn’t lose all that information. Tremble didn’t have waypoint categories, so all the dots could look like just meaningless blobs without the benefit of the category labels - so HuntStand does have the upper hand there. I would be able to pay decent money for a hunting GPS app that combines some of the features discussed above with a decent trail camera management tool, but out of the several I have tried, I have yet to find anything that works well in that regard. Hope this helps...
