  • For a newbie sailor, seems pretty good

Mostly I like it. I found a few things confusing though: - why no option to display magnetic headings? Boats have magnetic compasses, so would be nice on a route to be able to display a magnetic heading. Airplane apps like ForeFlight have this because planes also have magnetic compasses. Sure, I could calculate manually, but if I wanted to do that I’d just use a paper chart and a gps unit. Help us out here, it’s not hard to implement. - saving a route you just made to your route list is not obvious, there’s no “save to archives” button or anything. I looked there and my route didn’t show up. Later it did. Please try to follow the principle of least surprise for ui development. - would be nice if you could click on map icons and find out what they meant. The little fish icon with a circle and line through it is obvious, some others are not. That said, this is a nice app. Thoroughly enjoyed playing with it on a recent short trip!
  • Will not refund due to a download error.

Tried downloading an update to Navionics boating app which I have been using for a year. Navionics has about a dozen apps which all look alike and I accidentally chose the wrong one to update. I chose a 49.95 new app when I had only wanted a 9.99 update. Hey, we all make mistakes right, so I figured I would contact Navionics immediately and take care of the problem. No luck. They claimed they can do nothing about it because all transactions go through Apple and to contact them. So I explained my situation to Apple in an email and got an automated response of NO. No refund, couldn’t even contact anyone to speak with. So I give Navionics one star due to poor customer service. They just passed along my issue to a trillion dollar company for which I have no recourse.
  • Route rename

I have tried to rename a route by following the instructions in the help section for my iPad. When I get to route list, no icon symbol is showing. Help section is useless. Needs updating.
  • Useless as a companion app

I have a Lowrance chart plotter and purchased a Navonics map for about $100 which works great. I downloaded this as a companion app for my iPad to plan fishing trips. But at $55 a year, it's just not worth it! What a joke! The app is worthless without paying a subscription fee every year, because the "government chart" shows no depth at all. I have better luck downloading a real "Government chart" in PDF format from the MN DNR website. I am removing this app and will never buy another Navonics map as long as I live. They have got way to greedy.
  • Nice but...

Initially this app looks great but after messing around with it I found some serious bugs wit map setup. The shallow setting that shades the depth below your set safe draft was the main reason I looked at this app and it is highly buggy. I set it to 1 foot and I clearly see sections that are 2 or even 3 feet deep shaded as too shallow. I tried zooming in super close to no avail. There is even a block of an area north of key west where the shading does not fill at all no matter what you set it at.Great potential but too buggy
  • What is the purpose of this app?

  • Free version is unusable bloat ware crap

There is no way to open the free version without being forced into a "free trial" of the paid version. I would give a zero if I could.
  • Free trial

Downloaded ok. Charts looked real good on IPAD. Biggest issue was that when went to Course Up option, all the words on the chart were upside down as if the chart was stuck in a North Up orientation. This was very confusing while trying to navigate the Tennessee River. If that were fixed, then I'd buy.

  • Navigational App of the year.

This app is the best marine navy app out there. With this auto routing feature your trip planning will be a breeze. If you have a small boat it can be a primary. Myself I have a Simrad system but this will serve as a great backup to that and trip planning app on my couch at night.
