Noom Coach App Reviews

  • I’m stuck in the meal reminder settings

    By silverhalides
I literally am stuck in the meal reminder setting page. I can’t back up or X out or swipe or anything. I downloaded the app about 2 hours ago. Related: I clicked on the add in Instagram, which is how I got started on this, and now I can’t X out of that either.
  • Noom is changing my relationship with food

    By paciaanne
I tried out the app because of its 14-day trial and ended up enjoying it for its ease of use, quizzes, group coach, and personal coach. I am learning a lot about my relationship with food, triggers, and more, ultimately teaching me to be more mindful. Highly recommend.

Do NOT start free trial unless you are POSITIVE to end it the DAY BEFORE the last day. I tried to cancel on the last day of my free trial and they are still trying to take over $120 out of my bank account. I didn’t really like the app or use it and the amount of notifications are very annoying. It’s one thing to input your info, but they have like 10 group chats going on at once! And during work hours, too. So your phone is consistently blowing up that I started to ignore regular notifications to put my meal information in. Don’t recommend.
  • Don’t do the free trial!

I was charged $150 because I forgot to cancel - and they don’t have a refund policy!! What a scam!
  • Really helpful & motivating

This app is easy to use and fun. I have found a lot of success using it. I find having a group to share with keeps me motivated and holds me accountable.
  • Like app/program but there are problems

    By Cryscee
I’ve been using Noom for about 6 weeks now and I’m down 18 pounds. I like the articles and tracker. It has most foods and you can add ones not in the app. The accountability from the goal specialist has been great. I would’ve given it 5 stars but after 4 weeks I was removed from my group and lost access to the paid features with no warning. I emailed support and heard back a week later that it was due to a payment glitch. I was sent a link to join again at the promo rate I initially signed up for. The problem- I have a new group and goal specialist now and all of the articles started over at week 1. ☹️ I’m still following the program but this was a real blow to the momentum I had going, and I haven’t really clicked with the new group.

    It’s awesome
  • So far, no

    By Mariposacafe
I’ve had noom now for a week and in that time my step count has not recorded even close to correct and I can’t get either tech support or coach to fix the problem, so the app keeps lowering my step goal each day as if I’m not meeting goals! The coach articles each day are things you already know. Group participation is low. The goal specialist I was assigned didn’t get back with me as promised. So basically I’m being asked to pay big bucks to simply record my food diary when I can do that for free elsewhere. Noom has got to step up its game to at least do what it promises, correct things that don’t work like step counting (and yes I’ve synced it correctly ad nauseam),get some more than remedial articles/discussions and get the goal specialist involved rather than absent. Oh yeah, and answer emails when tech issues are reported - what others have said about lack of tech support I’m finding true so far. I wish I could report differently.
  • Designed as a 6-8 week course, not a whole 12 weeks as suggested.

    By Netherfield82
I REALLY liked this at first. But somewhere around week 6 or 7 of my (paid) 12 week course, the content takes a dive. It went from good, interactive and relatable articles and quizzes, to two flat paragraphs a day. The tone or “voice” of the articles changed too. The program starts by telling you they will have you weigh every day to help “scale anxiety”. True at first, but in the 6-7 week spot I’m in it’s asked me ONCE. It does NOT keep track of micros. In week 7 in fact, I have not read about them yet. I know that eventually I’ll get to the very bland article (if you scroll backwards in the app, past your start date, the articles are there day by day since the program is a never ending circle of articles). I read the article on micros when I scrolled too far back and it was nothing most people don’t know and you don’t utilize the knowledge. I read a few more articles that will be in my future and they maintain the flat, useless format. The groups are okay. Only a handful of peers will be at your exact week, so if you’re prompted to share something with your group, they might not know what you’re talking about because they haven’t made it there yet. The coaches do try, but can’t make up for fizzling content. I also think Noom could stand to hire a copy editor. It would make the articles seem a little more credible and professional if they were free from grammar/spelling errors.
  • Only the first month was good

    By mcadl
The first month was incredible, engaging, fun, motivating and everything they promise when they're trying to get you to sign up and pay their high fees. Then without warning from week 5 everything changed and it is now just plain, boring, borderline condescending. It all comes down to one thing: transparency. If that first month was the new format they claim to be "trying out" why not tell that to people? I understand they are rushing to update the whole content but in the meantime I'm still paying for something which is not exactly what I was sold. I'm frustrated and demotivated, and the email I send to Noom support a week ago is still unanswered.
