MileIQ: Mileage Log for Taxes App Details

MileIQ automatically tracks and records your mileage in the background as you drive your car for business. MileIQ users save an average of $6,900 per year. Tracking your miles for tax deduction purposes? MileIQ is the easiest most accurate way to create logs that follow IRS mileage standards. Easy to Use. Loaded with Features. Two of the biggest mistakes manual paper log keepers make is not maintaining a contemporaneous mileage log and mixing their business miles with personal miles. Inaccurate record keeping can result in rejected mileage deduction claims and IRS penalties. Automatic Mileage Detection MileIQ creates an accurate, contemporaneous record of the miles you drive for work. Automatic drive detection means no stopping and starting the app. No need for manual paper logs.  Accurate Mileage Tracking Features like Name Your Location and One Swipe Classification give your tax-deductible mileage records the accurate details they need to pass IRS scrutiny. A Custom Fit No matter whether you're tracking miles for reimbursements or tax deductions, MileIQ gives you the tools and flexibility to create mileage record details that reflect the miles you drive. • Personalize each drive with vehicle names, job numbers or any designation that fits your business • Use bulk editing to give groups of drives a single purpose • Use Frequent Drives to auto-classify the drives you make most often • Add drives, delete drives, duplicate drives, and more Making Your Business Mileage Count The 2017 standard IRS mileage rate of 53.5 cents per mile driven for business, 14 cents for charity and 17 cents for medical mileage. MileIQ calculates your largest mileage tax deduction. For example, let’s say you drive 1,000 or 10,000 miles for business using the standard mileage rate of 53.5 cents you’d be entitled to a mileage deduction of $535 or $5,350. Detailed Records of Every Drive A mileage log is only as good as the reports it generates. Stored securely in the cloud, MileIQ sends weekly mileage reports directly to your inbox. Need more specificity, use the web dashboard to generate custom reports.  • 20.9 billion miles logged with MileIQ • 60 million hours saved from manual logging • $2.5 billion in mileage deductions and reimbursements Join Millions of Drivers Who’ve Saved Billions of Dollars using MileIQ Try MileIQ for free. • No Classifications

It is a major challenge to classify different business trips. A lot of other apps provide the same simplistic options.
  • Not a drain

Not a drain of time or battery life. Easy. Chuffed that I also added a 'purpose' so now on top of business and personal I'm tracking charitable miles. They add up!
  • Great app

    So easy!!!
  • Pretty Good, needs common sense improvement

I’ve been using the app for 2 years. It does a very nice job tracking miles. Designating personal and business drives is very easy. It does need one big improvement to make the frequent drives feature useful. Right now frequent drives need only match a start and and an end point to be considered the same kind of drive. And since drives are not separated unless about five minutes of stationery time occurs, it’s easy to have a hundred mile drive that starts at home and ends at home. If you’ve designated such home to home drives as frequent personal drives in the past that may have been about a mile or two, it considers your hundred miler as the same type of personal drive, even though these two drives are nothing like each other. I found it had categorized many long business drives as personal because they shared common start and end points with the personal drives but the mileage wasn’t even close. If I hadn’t discovered this I would’ve lost hundreds in tax deductions.
  • Okay but problems

    By B-House
Works pretty good but occasionally will record traffic as a stop or miss a real stop. You have to be at a location 15 minutes for it to record the stop. If you’re making quick sales stops or deliveries none of the stops record looking like you went no where. Hopefully they’ll add a “stop button” at some point.
  • Horrible

    By corelogic employee
If you drive through mountain passes it doesn’t pick up those miles. When compared to the odometer miles, this app didn’t pick up over 20 miles driven!
  • The app is supper slow

    By 33nook
I have to drive a lot for my work. At beginning, the really like this app. Tax season his coming and I want to Categorize my drives. It is supper slow, and takes more than ten seconds to swipe left and right. I checked my husband’s, and it was the same slow. Hopefully, they can fix it!
  • Can’t create account...

    By VesperDEM
I installed the app to see how the program works, but I have not been able to create an account in the software. I have tried three times. One got me a web error when verifying my email. The other two I couldn’t even get the app to take my email/password.

Not reliable. Misses full day of drives a few times a month
  • Misses drives half the time

    By NixMay21
This app misses many of my business drives. I don’t know why I haven’t deleted it yet. Especially since I pay for it monthly.
