The Baltimore Sun App Reviews

  • Hopeless. Freezes constantly, crashes often.

I want to like this app. I really, really do. But it’s pretty much a complete waste. On a good day maybe I can get through three stories before it freezes up. Then there are days like today when reading even one seems hopeless. Please get this fixed - or I’m out of here. I’m getting almost nothing for my subscription.
  • Freezes and ads

Does not open up home screen articles and freezes. Also, I hate that I’m forced to watch an ad every time I open the app even though I’m a paying subscriber.
  • Why am I being bothered by ads? I’m a Sun subscriber

I pay for a monthly Sun subscription, to keep up with my local news, and reading in the app drives me insane, to the point that I am going to unsubscribe. I can’t stand the ads with sound that interrupt all scrolling through the app.
  • They force you to pay to read

You cannot read stories without paying.
  • Blurry when enlarging font

Articles used to autofocus when enlarging the font, but now it remains blurry. This was a nice feature when reading on your device because you could increase the font size and it would focus automatically. Does not do this any longer, so please fix.
  • Commercials with paid version

Delivers good news content but still inundates you with commercials prior to playing video content. Why am I paying a monthly subscription fee to watch advertisements?
  • Twitter login issue

I try to log in using Twitter, it then asks to enter my email address, I do that, and it says “Unable to update profile”! I want my Baltimore Sun account linked to my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts!

This is a condensed version of The Sun's major stories, editorials, and obituaries. It works well except for the death notices and long articles, which tend to crash. The only in-app purchase offered for iPhone is $7.99 per month.

No one covers the Baltimore area like the Sun, and this app is a great way to stay up to date throughout the day.
