  • Premium Version Crashes

Since the free version was quite useless (no data of any importance is available there) I went ahead and paid for the premium version within a few minutes. I used to be a subscriber to print magazine and The Economist used to send the pocket World in Figures. I loved those little books. I was expecting something like that and 6 bucks would’ve been worth it. Alas, this app (paid version) doesn’t even come close. It doesn’t have most of the data from the pocket book. It doesn’t give you many advantages that a digital publication could have given. And, It crashes!! Very annoying and productivity sapping. The Economist definitely eroded its brand name by selling this.

Why cant the currency be automatically translated to my country (US dollar)? Dont want to have to google translate myself. Wikipedia does better then this waste of money. Lost my trust in the economist
  • Disappointing.

I thought this small app would be part of my subscription to The Economist, but it's not. It has very little content and costs more than many apps that offer significantly more value. Very disappointing from a respected name like The Economist.
  • Display problem

The year of data is in the center of screen—meaning the eye must jump from the left to see the data name then to the right of screen to see the amount. Why stick the year in between???

It seems to have forgotten that I paid for it. It's like the vending machine ate my $7.
  • Too bad zero stars not an option

The free version is lame so I paid for the auto renewal premium option. It was okay for a year and I let the auto renewal happen. Then, a month later, premium quit working and I could find no way to get the app to recognize that I'd paid my renewal. I sent an email to The Economist asking for help and after a month, still no reply. So, I'm deleting the app and hoping I can figure out how to keep The Economist from charging me next year - which I'm sure they will try to do.

This is a nice app. I find the trivia part addictive but wish it would provide the correct answer when I get one wrong. I know ideally I'd look it up, but i feel like I'd need to keep a notepad to quickly write down each question, or screenshot each one.

Commits you to an in app subscription automatically, even when you have not used the app in more than 9 months. Does not seek confirmation of subscription
  • Infrequent Data Updates

Please update data more frequently; certain data are from 2013? Also, your Nov 2016 software update broke the ranking functionality so it does not display the lists anymore. Thank you.
