QR Reader for iPhone App Reviews

  • Some very nice features here!

Looks like a bunch of gimmicks in one but this app is actually very good. I downloaded it to test code 39 barcodes for labels in the factory I work in, but tried out some of the other features and was very impressed. The OCR for business cards is excellent and the PDF tool does a good job straightening the edges of off angle scans. For my original purpose, I like that I can set it to simply display the decoded text from the bar code and not try to open up a search window or treat it as a UPC...just the text. Plain and simple. I like it.

    Absolutely useless!
  • Ugh

When you scan a code you get bombarded with ads to the point you can’t even get the information you need. When you try to delete you way out of them, the app repeats them.

I’m currently deleting apps I don’t use. I can say for sure that this is the one I am keeping. It has always worked well andI did just have a one time charge. I only decided to write this review when I saw a few negative ones where people I think really are confusing this with other apps - I deleted the others long ago. Maybe y’all could add something additional to your name to help differentiate it. Anyway. Great little app.

Beware, QR Reader is very closely named to QR Scanner which costs $50 per year.
  • Scans all sorts of things!

I’ve used this app for years. It’s my go-to scanner for bar codes, QR codes, and I even did a datamatrix code. I’ve also scanned some typed URLs (OCR image to text) instead of having to type copy a long URL. Works great! Thank you!
