The press might be the only thing that saves our democracy. We need this organization to continue it's reporting and investigative work. Well done WaPo.

When Trump was elected my family was disgusted. Thank you. WaPo, for the truth. I will subscribe until I die.

I'm a lifetime NY TImes reader and I prefer the WaPo. There I said it. I really like the digital format so much better and follow opinions and national news - and especially politics. I'll always be loyal to my NYT but just had to get this off my ample chest.

Not sure why the app will not allow you to view or post comments ...else it’s pretty good
  • Philip Bump’s article 6/18/2018 “ How to mislead with statistics DHS Secretary Nielsen Edition

I can’t remember an article which demonstrated with such absolute clarity and facts how the Trump administration goes about its mission of disinformation and outright lies. While listening to Secretary Nielsen defend the administrations revolting and cruel treatment of children by identifying laws, sighting data and putting forth with great certainty that “They” were doing it right, Now I read Mr. Bump’s article. Ms. Nielsen claimed the vast majority of children ending up in these detention centers were not escorted by their parents but were brought here by smugglers/human traffickers accounting for over a 300% increase over the recent past. I could restate the articles statistics but for the sake of brevity I will refer to one ... that 300% percent increase was represented by 190 cases of human trafficking versus over 20,000 families trying to reach our country. That equates to 0.61% of the children are smuggled rather than traveling with their family or family friend. The White House thought her 300% number was convincing enough to use it themselves later in the day. THEY THINK WE ARE STUPID ! They will never understand we have BUMP NOT TRUMP! • Journalism is almost happening

I give the New York Times 4 stars. I wish I could give them five but in the past two decades or so they have backed away from genuine journalism and participated instead in “bothsideism” which is not journalism. It is reporting truth on one side and lies and propaganda on the other. No ethical journalist would provide a platform for propaganda and lies without labeling it propaganda and lies. Sadly, the NYT believes reporting both sides and giving equal weight and validity to both sides equals responsible journalism. It does not. The fourth estates sole purpose is to inform with facts and truth - not to print lies. This leads down the road to tyranny. Sadly the New York Times has not yet grasped the historical fact that when tyranny comes one of the first institutions terminated are the press. Pay attention NYT - your “both sides” reporting may be the cause of your demise.

I read on the train with no connectivity. NYT app does a much better job of downloading content automatically before I get on the train. Makes my subscription not worth much.

With the insanity that is being spewed on T.V. Networks, it is imperative that I hear the FACTS and the WP has stepped up to the plate and delivers. Thank you to your reporters who work 7 days a week 18 hours a day to bring some sanity into these chaotic days, months and years. I am grateful for your work.

I’m a subscriber but yet I’m subjected to intrusive autoplaying video adverts when reading a story. You already make money from me each month, do you really need to exploit your subscribers for microcents?
