MyFitnessPal App Reviews

  • App seems okay, flooded with ads

The app's got the features I was looking for. But from the moment I first opened it, it's full of prominently placed, animated, non-dismisable ads that take up the prime spots on the screen. Unless you buy the premium it's between unpleasant and unusable. I'm not opposed to in app purchases but I want to be able to use the app first.
  • Continually Crashes

Nearly every time I’m searching for a recipe it crashes now. Have to open it back up and start over. Used to use this app all the time but there’s a serious error now that needs to be fixed.

Love ease of weight tracking. Love calorie logging with available nutrition count. That said......wish I could make changes to my goals on the main page without the nuisance of having to go, and log in to a different page. Biggest complaint is on home page with "blogs". Really dislike seeing scrumptious photos of food.......with no link to recipe!!! Recently there were avocado halves with an egg cooked in them garnished with bacon. Sure.....I could wing it. But why should I have to risk messing up a meal. Make it a requirement on blogs. No yummy photo without recipe! All in all, this is best site for weight/health conscious people.
  • Innaccurate Calorie Count

My cal intake is 1375. I tracked in myfitnesspal foods in advance and it just doesnt add up. It says I went over in cals when I havent even met or overridden any of my macros. It said I'd consume 1464 cals, yet when I did the math myself, it added up to only 1293 cals. Macros are important but its because it all adds up to a correct calorie count. Do the math yourself and beware of whether you undereating or overeating when tracking
  • Not 4+

In the app store, the app says it is ages 4+ however it will not let my 14 year old daughter sign up. Very misleading.
  • Could be better

When entering my very first meal, the serving sizes on everything I tried to add was ounce, gram, pound, etc. that's not the way I live. I want choices like cup, tablespoon, teaspoon, etc. I do NOT want to weigh everything I eat. Also, the data base is absolutely amazing. However, since people are allowed to enter items into the community accessible database, there is so much JUNK! I’d give more stars if someone would clean out the wrong/misleading data and review data submitted to be added.
  • Decent

Because I’ve logged in this app for so long already, I’ve decided to stick with it. That being said, I’m continually unable to sync my step count to my calorie adjustment despite multiple attempts to sync the app with my health app and continuous updates. It won’t even sync to another UA app I use. It’s bordering garbage but I’m already too deep into using it.

Since update two days ago on my phone. I can’t log in. This makes me sad, I use this app daily for the last 100 days to count my calories and etc. I refer this app to all of my friends. Please help fix this issue.
  • Over the top

I am a certified personal trainer. I use this app to simply help keep track of what I eat. After telling me that my 3 eggs in the morning was bad for me, along with a cup of whole milk, and even apple... well, needless to say “health” food is unhealthy according to this app. I understand no app is perfect and everyone’s body, athletic level and nutrition is different. However, this app has went from being a blessing to a headache.
  • Members have to be 18

Disclaimer!!! This review is not for any of the content of this app!!!! In my mind, an age based rating should correlate with the minimum age at which someone can use the site. While this app does not seem to have anything inappropriate, in 2018, all members must be born in or before 2000. So if you're a high school student hoping to get in shape for marching band season or something, you'll need a different app.
