  • Fake and dead profiles are knowingly posted by this company.

Update I just got nonsense message from Match: "Hi EV-traveler, Please be assured, Match does not send members misleading notifications, e-mails or winks professing romantic interest... —This was in response to my negative review. Apparently they forgot that if they lied to me anymore that I wrote them to say that I would quote their nonsense... I do hope they improve their policies in their self interest. Update — I quit Match and after a lot of back-and-forth by email with their staff, they said they took down my dead profile. One year later they are still using my pictures, and a corrupted version of the text in my profile— a friend sent me the link. It is clear that they would rather sell memberships based on dead profile accounts than respecting their customer’s right to delete their information, and to respect their privacy. Previous version of this review: They lie by omission to people about who is a member and who isn't. The two most egregious methods I know about personally are showing my canceled, hidden profile to my current lover thus creating turmoil, and showing the profile of a married former lover to me when she canceled her profile years ago. These lies cause disruption in relationships, and unhappiness in their clients. To guard against this, I had deleted my pictures, and completely changed my text to contain statements like I am no longer on Match. Those changes lasted for a while, and then they reverted my profile back to a previous version. Yes, it’ is really that bad. Though there are more people here than many other sites, most of those accounts may be knowingly dead. The money-grubbing nature of the site permeates the experience. They are always trying to figure out new angles to charge for features that used to be free, and thereby actually lessen the value of the basic membership by giving others an advantage. This practice has spread as the managing company now also controls Chemistry, Plenty of Fish, and OkCupid.

Yeah, save your money, go to the bar, and buy 25 3 dollar drinks and I guarantee you better luck. The women on here so entitled and it’s garbage. I’ll admit, I have 3 children and am 38, so it’s not an easy road. But these women have that and no job, house or future and complain about the men on here. I make good money, have a good job, looks 7/10 and still 0 replies. 100 bucks well spent match.com...thanks for showing 2 fake profiles were interested just to draw me in.

Make search engine more specific. Every time new update comes up this app become more useless. How about: “languages spoken” in search engine?
  • Waste of money as well

The matching algorithms are poor, selection poor, the overall experience is everything you’d expect from online dating. You’re better off not even wasting your time. Update : id give it no stars if that were possible. Come to find out there is apparently no way to delete your account on match.com. I tried to delete all of my info, and they sent me an email saying my changes to my profile were not approved 🙄 I’ve tried web searches, and clicking, scrolling around, even the support page. I’ve emailed customer support and nothing not even a simple response. Biggest waste of time ever. Do yourself a favor and just don’t.

This has been the most infuriating experience of any online dating app. I signed up for a three month membership but have been counting the days until it expires. My account has now been hacked three times in two months, and once I regain access, I will be shutting my account down for good. A refund would be nice, but based on my experience with customer support, it's probably not happening. 🤬
