Hallow: Prayer and Meditation App Details

Hallow offers guided prayer and meditation sessions to help us grow in our faith lives and find peace and stillness in God. Explore contemplative prayer and meditation sessions across: * Christian Meditation: finding peace in silence and imaginative prayer * Examen: reflecting on your day and discovering an awareness of God in the present moment * Lectio Divina: entering into a conversation with God through scripture * Spiritual Writing: journaling with God, listening to Him, and sharing with Him what’s on your mind and heart * Taizé and Chant Meditation: meditative chant and singing with God * Rosary: meditating with Mary through the mysteries of the Rosary Today’s world is stressful, busy, hectic, and full of distractions. Society puts an insane amount of pressure on us and there seems to be a constantly increasing expectation to work harder, study more, respond faster, and perform better. At the same point in time, we’re increasingly searching for meaning, fulfillment, purpose, and growth within our spiritual lives. We believe these two challenges can be addressed with the same solution. Namely, through deepening our relationship with God. By allowing Him into our day-to-day lives and stresses, we let Him share with us His peace, joy and fulfillment. WHAT YOU GET Hallow’s intutitive, convenient and personalized experience begins with a 9-day introduction that guides you step-by-step through three different methods of prayer. After this, it’s up to you to choose from our collection of over 200 sessions across three different sections: Dailies: Daily prayers across methods including Christian Meditation, Lectio Divina, the Rosary, Spiritual Writing, and the Examen. Praylists: Sessions across a variety of prayer methods, all centered on one particular theme e.g., joy, humility, making decisions, calm, letting go. Challenges: Prayers usually focused on re-discovering the beauty within traditional prayers for example: the Our Father, Stations of the Cross, and Advent. In addition to the above sections, Hallow offers a number of features to help users customize their prayer experience: * Journal for users to capture their thoughts after every prayer * Choice between male and female guides * Options for 3 different lengths for every prayer (typically 5, 10, or 15 minutes) * Ability to set prayer reminders * Option to include calming background music in any session * Ability to download sessions for offline listening SUBSCRIPTION PRICING AND TERMS Users can access our Daily prayers (including the rosary) and the 9-day Intro Prayer Challenge for free. To access the full suite of Praylists and Challenges, Hallow offers two auto-renewing subscription options: $8.99 per month $59.99 per year Additionally, Hallow offers a Lifetime subscription, which is paid for through a one-off upfront payment of $199.99 with unlimited access to Hallow forever. Hallow: Prayer and Meditation App Reviews

  • I Needed This

    By pray it forward
There are so many great things to love about Hallow! I have made this a part of my morning routine and look forward to the reflections and quiet time to pray. I tend to jump around the many opportunities the site has to offer, one day Calm, another day Humility, etc. depending on how I feel and what I anticipate I will benefit most from that day. This App has something to offer everyone who is interested in making prayer a consistent part of their life. Looking forward to seeing what is next on Hallow!
  • A great way to stay centered in daily prayer

    Love it!
  • Build a richer prayer life with this app

    By PstephH
I started using this app several weeks ago and it is now part of my daily routine. I have tried other meditation apps in the past and found them to be a bit too self-focused. Hallow helps me connect with God, and through Hallow I am learning to listen to God’s voice and spend quiet time in His loving presence. I love exploring the variety of prayer challenges, pray lists and forms of Christian meditation presented in the app. If you are looking to experience a richer encounter with God, try Hallow!
  • Best prayer app, hands down!

    By SMCBellse2016
I’ve tried a lot of different options to improve my prayer life-books, other apps, etc and none of them compare to Hallow! This app is super easy to use and offers so much variety to fit what ever time constraint and topic you need that day. My prayer life and habits have drastically improved and I have Hallow to thank! Try it today, you won’t be disappointed!
  • Faithful meditation

    By CAllenN
I had been looking for a meditation app and discovered this through a daily gospel reflection I received from my son’s university. I have thoroughly enjoyed the meditative experience and the ability to focus on my faith, on my prayer life, and on God. I have found Hallow easy to use, relaxing, and reflective. I feel this has brought me closer to God. I wholeheartedly recommend this for folks looking for something similar in their lives.

After several failed attempts, it ever let me go further than “let us pray”.
  • Lots of buzz but

A few red flags: Red Flag #1: The automatic renewal of a $9 monthly subscription after the free trial is typical, but to make the default box be the yearly charge of $60? They programmed it this way. The default could easily have been the monthly payment. And the lifetime subscription of $200 is pretty funny. Even the best of phone apps have a fairly short shelf life, because the developers move on to new things. You think these guys are gonna be adding new content in 30 years? Lol Red Flag #2: Terms of service are sketch. For instance: “We may use User Material for our internal business purposes, for example, to examine trends or categories or to promote, market or advertise Hallow. You acknowledge that we may indirectly commercially benefit from use of your User Material.” The warning about “free apps” is that you aren’t the customer. Here, even when you’re paying $9 a month, you aren’t the customer! And it’s concerning that the word journal does not appear in the Terms of Service. It must be part of User Material. Be warned. You can have no expectation of privacy for your journal and the developers can profit off it. You’d be better using a separate app, or a paper notebook. And you’ve waived your right to take the developers to trial unless you opt out of arbitration by email within 30 days after setting up your account. Red Flag #3: Many blurbs from notable Catholics, but no one on the staff seems to have a background in theology. Maybe that’s why the material is mostly Catholic-lite, readily available via podcasts or websites. Or at your friendly Newman center. Judge and evaluate this app for yourself, but keep an eye on your subscription and your User Content. And please send an email to support at hallow dot app and say that you want to opt out out of arbitration, because this kind of assholery should be discouraged Believe me, they didn’t put in this clause for our benefit.
