  • “Auto-questing”?....

    By Snailmire
So the game felt fun to play at first. It takes control of things by auto-questing and progressing you to everyone else’s level very quickly. Bonus experience, overpowered equipment, etc. But this leads to, quite literally, watching the game play itself for the first six hours. It got boring fast.

This was a great game at the beginning. There’re were so many things you could do, so much uniqueness to the upgrade systems, so many different ways you could develop your character. Then we come to mid-game, where it all goes downhill. First of all, it’s really grindy. Like, leave my phone on overnight every single day grindy. I don’t mind grinding if it seems like I’m making progress but this is just ridiculous. Second, F2P will never catch up with P2Win. It’s okay to give paying players an advantage, but in this game, if you aren’t paying, you aren’t competing. I can bet nobody in the top ranks are 100% F2P, which is just dumb. A good game should have a way for F2P to compete with P2Win, whether it be through smart decisions or skill or effort. L2R has none of these. Last is the problem of leveling up and CP. From what I can tell, the game encourages unknowing players to level up ultra fast, realize when they’re level 100 that their CP isn’t up to snuff, and pay money to make up for it. Like, no. For people who don’t know, CP is your combat power, basically your “rank” of sorts. Anyway, the more CP you manage to get early game, the easier it is to get CP mid and late game. It matters A LOT. I destroyed my first character because I leveled up too fast, not taking the time to grind for CP, and so I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t grind for exp because I couldn’t kill the mobs without tons of pots, I couldn’t beat same level people in the arena, etc. It’s like rushing your Town Hall in Clash of Clans. Netmarble. Fix this. Hell, I don’t even care if you insert a level minimum CP limit or not. I just wish you would not encourage players to do the main quests, which gives you tons of exp, and destroys your CP potential and future. The only things you have going for the game are the customization, the large map, the somewhat F2P events, the graphics, and the possible future, which I why I have this 3 stars.
