Ultimate Circle Of Fifths App Details

This app allows you to easily compose great sounding chord progressions! It highlights the chords of a certain key in different colors. In this way you can see directly which chords are major, minor and diminished. This is very helpful for composing and practicing - no matter which instrument you are playing! For Songwriters: Create chord progressions with the help of the circle of fifths. You do not necessarily have to understand the theory behind it, the app will just help you to come up with cool chords! For Beginners: Get familiar with the circle of fifths. You can compose and practice chord progressions and visualize them in the circle. You can practice scales in different keys and clefs. Playback scales and train your ear. You have a keyboard which can be activated to display the tones of which the chord consists. For Pro's: Display and playback 4-note chords and practice scales from ionian to melodic minor. All Features: PROGRESSION MODE Compose progressions, playback them and see the chord relations within the circle of fifths. You can put together 4-8 bars and repeat them. In this way you can compose two parts (like verse and chorus) and hear how they sound like together! Export Progressions as MIDI file. You can tap in the playback tempo or adjust in manually (40 - 240 bpm). Playback progressions with or without click and/or piano. Practice progressions along with the circle of fifths. Your progressions will be visualized in the circle. There are some predefined common progressions or you can compose your own. You can pick chords from the current key for your progressions and adjust the mode to ionian, aeolian, dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian, locrian or even harmonic and melodic minor. The circle of fifths is a fantastic tool period. I memorized it and drew it out for years but now I don’t have to do that if I ever need to look at it and utilize it. Not only that but this app will play scales and progressions giving instant feedback for ideas. I love it and use it all the time. Wish I had it sooner.

This app is one of the best investments I’ve made this year just knowing that I have this in my pocket it’s mind blowing. Now I am really able to work on musical ideas and inspirations.
  • This app is really useful

I honestly think I’ve written the best chord progression I’ve ever made with the help of this app. I love that you can write is more experimental scales, like harmonic minor. There are a few things that I would love to see in this app that would change my review to 5-Star: -Change how many chords are in a chord progression. I really want to work with 32 chords. You can only do 4 and 8 now. -Add a seventh on to a single chord without having to make all of them sevenths. You can currently only do this with some of the scales, I believe. -Save chord progression to the app. -Change which octave a chord is being played in. I really want to be able to use this app on the go whenever I’m bored and not sitting beside a piano or my PC. I think these things would really help the app become more useful.

I’m not sure if it’s because of my phone or my earjack but the feedback sound, sounds super staticky for me. I really like how there’s different functions on this app and would love to continue using it but I’m not sure with the sound quality that the app is giving me.
  • Cool but shallow

Nice interface but doesn’t run very deep. Being able to borrow chords is pretty clutch as well as come up with something other than a standard 4 bar progression. An option to invert the chords and borrow chords from other modes would make it way more solid. Also, the internal audio engine sounds like it’s clipping/sample of the piano sound very crappy.
  • Not bad
