Cladwell App Reviews

  • Really enjoy(ed)

    By Mochsner
TL/DR: I’ve used for 2 years. used to work, now the paid for parts don’t. Great app if they fix it. No insightful communication from customer service. I have loved the recent updates BUT the previous functionality left with the recent additions. I have emailed multiple times about not having suggested outfits although I have over 100 items in my closet and 4K possible outfits. The FAQ suggests it is due to the colder weather and that my app is thinking I don’t have colder items and they suggest changing the title of things like dress pants to “jeans” as those are an ‘all-weather’ item and more likely to be suggested. However, it has been 80 throughout this September in Ohio and this can not be the reason for my outfits to be gone. All I have received from Cladwell after three emails and a week of no use of the app is that they are frustrated too and to remain patient. I consider deleting the app until the issue is resolved as I doubt they would reimburse for their app not functioning for the paid for pieces. ——————————— I’ve had cladwell for a year or so and truly appreciate how it not only tracks what I wear so I can purge appropriately but also that it helps my anxiety. There are days I can go into panic attack because of the thoughts when I go in my closet. This shortens that time and lessens that likelihood. One thing I would love to see more of is athletic shorts and items that are more leisure. I am very active and wear lots or running and athletic gear that is like to track as well. Shorts in general could also use more options.
  • Cladwell - A Good Start

As someone who is living with BDD (a body disorder in the realm of OCD) getting dressed is a daily struggle for me. This app has helped me a lot over the past few days to cut down on time in the morning - less time spent worrying what to wear, worrying if I will be too hot/cold, and worrying about wearing the same outfit over and over as a “security blanket.” I really like the app conceptually, and it does help, but it feels like a beta or in-development version. The combination of clothing in suggested outfits sometimes makes no sense (ex: running shoes with a fancy dress and leather jacket). I feel like there should be more options in the pool for fabric choices in the description and more choices in general within the pool of items. Finally - the app CRASHES at least 6 or 7 times every time I use it, especially when creating my own outfit or adding to closet. I plan to continue my subscription to the app in hopes development is continued, otherwise I will move on to other competitors (like stylebook - while I prefer the functions of cladwell in suggesting outfits and weather forecasts, stylebook has proven to be more stable and customizable.)
  • Useful even for people who wear uniforms for work!

    By reader61444
This year I switched to a job that requires I wear a uniform. This app helped me see what clothes I really wear (and should keep) and those that were languishing in my closet. So while I don’t use the app for styling every day, it helps me remember just how many outfits I have. I also find it useful when I go on a trip. I make a capsule wardrobe for the trip and pack accordingly- I can see what pieces to wear together and potential outfits.
  • Disappointed

    By Reevs
I spent 15 minutes selecting all the clothes in my wardrobe only to find out there’s a monthly subscription I have to pay? Ugh if I had the money I guess it’d be a decent app to use.
  • Love it

So helpful to pare down and get fresh combo ideas. I think they are still adding things, lots of room for upgrades but I love it!!
  • So many outfits so little time

    By gbrfan
I like that I can take pictures of my clothes from websites or my online orders and add them directly into the app. I have a hard time styling my own clothes and fall into a rut I had no idea I had so many outfits! I’m definitely using the unlimited capsules function. I’ve made seasonal work and casual capsules. I also live in a climate that is very hot and very cold so using the virtual storage to exclude off-season items in my outfits is perfect! Please, please, please, add cream/Ivory to the colors and linen to the fabrics! I would also love if you could choose coats and not just jackets. Others have already mentioned accessories-I’d like hats and scarves in particular.
  • Very glitchy

I like this app in theory. It’s been freezing on my quite a bit lately though and suggests some absurd outfits for the weather. Not sure it’s worth $8/month 🤷🏼‍♀️
  • Great concept but VERY lacking

    By BubblyDesignCo
I love the idea of this app and invested lots of hours into it. Right off the bat, I love how easy it is to build your closet from existing items. No photographing your items or anything like that. However, there are critical flaws which made me cancel my subscription after 2 weeks: 1. The app is incredibly slow at loading and crashes often. 2. I loved the idea of planning capsules for trips BUT you can’t tell the app that the location you’re traveling to may have a different climate than your home location, making it difficult to really pre-plan and log outfits. 3. I am fairly confident that the app doesn’t actually use weather or any details about the individual items to build outfits. It just randomizes and pulls things together. I mostly just put my own outfits together because it suggested things that made no sense for the weather or wouldn’t really work together.
  • Very Disappointing

I took the time to make all my clothing choices and it wasn't until I was done that the Cladwell app told me I had to pay to join and use it. There's a short free trial option, but what's the point? I feel tricked. I wouldn't have spent time making choices and getting my hopes up if I had know I had to pay to use it. This should be mentioned up front. Deleted.
  • Update: Worth the price (IMO)

    By AppleBrandy
With the major crash fixes, bugs squashed, and plethora of new features, I am incredibly happy with this app! I use it every day and have logged 124 days in a row thus far (don’t want to break the streak!). Things that make the app worth it: - The recommended outfits make for easy decision-making. - Can customize or create your own outfit. - Save your favorite outfits. - See a history of all your logged outfits. - Analysis of the items and color palettes you wear most often. - Indications of items you haven’t worn (and should probably get rid of). - Ability to add your own clothing items. - Can create separate capsules for different occasions. Things I wish the app had (but aren’t deal-breakers): - Ability to add accessories, especially scarves. - Recommendations for outfits based on items you haven’t worn in a while. - Sorting clothing items by date they were last worn. - Ability to reorder the capsule listings in the side menu. I know the app isn’t cheap and I do wish the trial period was longer. If you decide to jump in, I personally think the price is worth it. I’ve used the app for awhile now and know how far it has come. The developers really do listen to the concerns of their users, so if you ever have any problems or suggestions, be sure to let them know! **Previous Review** I’ve used Cladwell for well over a year. I had a “closet” full of clothes, several of which I added manually. Since the 3.0.1 update... (1) the app is very slow; (2) the app says I have no clothing items; (3) when I go to add more clothing and click on “my closet”, my items are there, but there are duplicates of each one; (4) if I go to my history, the app shows my outfits, but in duplicates. I really wish I could just go back to the previous version. All of the promised enhancements for the latest updates are things that I’ve been wanting in the app for a long time. However, there’s no point to any of them if I can’t even use the app.
