Parental Control App - unGlue App Reviews

  • Disappointed

    By Mamma needs an app
I downloaded the app only to get the message when putting on my daughter’s phone that the unglued kids app isn’t available in the US. The parent app is useless without the kid app. It looked good too. Now hopefully I don’t have to fight about my apple account being charged for an app I didn’t use.
  • No Go!!

Child download is not in iTunes un the USA. It is only available in UK and Canada. Boooo
  • Worthless

    By parentfb
Seems to work great until your child realizes all they have to do is turn the vpn off on their phone. Then there is nothing you can do to stop them from using the internet as much as they want to. It is as if I never even installed the app. (And of course by then you will have already paid the annual fee). I sent an email to unGlue support and they told me that having a conversation with my child about the purpose of the app helps. Seriously, don’t they realize that I have already had many conversations with my child about too much screen usage and if simply having a conversation would have worked I wouldn’t have had to purchase the app in the first place. This app is not worth your time or money.
  • Easy to bypass - not worth it

    By paulygiuffre
I loved this app for a whole 24 hours. My kid found a way to bypass it simply by turning off vpn from the settings. What a joke. Can anyone recommend something a child can’t bypass??
  • Download trouble

I can’t get my phone and the kids app to sync. I’d really like to try this app if I can get it to work!
  • Best solution for helping my kids

    By Leon_Phelps
The unGlue approach feels just right for my family. I explained to the kids that it isn't about punishment or invading their privacy. I just want to give them a tool to be aware of how much time their iPhones and iPads are consuming. They weren't wild about the idea of it, but gave it a try. I've been generous in rewarding them with extra screen time when they finish homework, complete chores, and exercise. By the time the trial period ended, I felt like this was exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommend! :-)
  • Horrible Customer Service

    By roots1ner
I tried this App and yes I do have to say it works very well. I took advantage of the free trial and it did very well. Did not subscribe to it right away and in that time got a new phone and my phone will not pair with my sons. Emailed customer support about this issue after going to the common questions area and following instructions as far as install and uninstall on both phones. I emailed on August 12, 2018. I received a automated email response stating that customer support received my request and they would be in touch soon. I have yet to receive a phone call, email, smoke signal nothing.
  • VPN turns itself off!

    By TGDBatman727
This app is problem prone. VPN randomly turns on and off on kids phones, cause unknown (I don’t think they could do this, and shouldn’t be able to if they can). Monitoring is interrupted periodically for hours or days at a time. Sometimes I am notified, sometimes not. Unable to fix or even troubleshoot problem for various reasons, including sometimes VPN shows as enabled and functioning on kids phone, but on the app on my phone I see ‘turning on (daughter’s) VPN’ message, and it hangs there forever. Couple this with the fact that this app doesn’t enable me to limit screen time, only internet time (kids can still play games not requiring internet) and it’s simply ineffective. Don’t waste your time or money.
  • Question

    By Chalies.Wife
Is there a way to block texting when time is over as well? Or other apps like games ect I just downloaded but was easy to install love the extra minutes for chores ect
  • Nice when it actually works

    By Kill4Kev
We’ve had so many issues with this app. Either the VPN goes down which makes it impossible for my son to get online at all, or it slows down the WiFi, or now, the kids app refuses to connect to the parent app. Hopefully the new parental and screen time controls coming to iOS 12 will make these apps unnecessary soon.
