FilmStruck App Reviews

  • Great addition to other film apps

    By Tron from Baltimore
Along with Netflix and Hulu, FilmStruck is a nice arthouse/foreign film app to have if you’re an aficionado and Criterion collector like myself. I have a small Criterion Collection collection but it’s nice to find new films to purchase on those two holidays (Barnes and Noble 50% off sale!)...
  • Good app

I love FilmStruck but sometimes the movies do not play properly and it’s hard to get movie going again. This Apple app plays better than my Roku one at home.

If you are the type of person who loves film history, foreign films, art house films, and thoughtful passion projects, then this is the subscription service you want. If you subscribe go ahead and pay the extra cost for the Criterion Channel. Trust me, it is an absolute must have for movie buffs. Many films come with a ton of extra features and insightful commentaries. The selection is much larger than I expected. I couldn’t be a happier customer!
  • Downloading...

Would love to have the option to download videos to my device (like Netflix) so I can watch while doing mindless tasks at work, streaming on our WiFi network is verboten.
  • Streaming issues

    By barbosa_xiii
I have experienced, while watching a few of the films, the audio and video losing its sync. To fix this I have to refresh the page and then it will happen again. Kind of A pain. Other than streaming issues though, this is a wonderful place to discover new films.
  • Quality is much better on iPad

    By Lover Spurned
The quality of playback (soundtrack image coordination) is much better on iPad compared to the web browser on MacBook. on the web browser it is difficult to follow as image lags behind the soundtrack almost always. With same connection, iPad works better and also image quality seems to be better too.
  • The big sleep

Hi… The films are great but you should have volume control and subtitles then it would be five star
  • Disappointing

    By RealMia
I want to love this app for its superior, compelling catalog. I cannot tolerate the playback issues. I’ve tried to watch the same movie 5 times; it seems to snag and stop and abruptly exit out of the app in mid-play. This happens every time I use the app. I have the highest data package Comcast offers, but this app is very frustrating.
