    I had a well-established mindfulness practice and exercise program when I started Eat Right Now. I also had a goal of reducing body fat very slowly over a long period of time. This program helped me to refine my existing practices. I found that applying mindless techniques to eating was a natural extension of what I was already doing. I have not tried to lose weight, but instead have focused on simply being mindful of all aspects of my life including eating. I found myself eating smaller portions and more satisfying foods while having fewer cravings. I enjoy better foods more, and can make better decisions about eating, diet, and exercise.

    I was a little skeptical about how an app based program could promote the awareness and connection necessary to create lasting changes to my codependent relationship to food. But this program is so well designed, I feel like each lesson anticipates my questions and struggles. The gradual induction into mindful eating feels so much more manageable and accessible than I expected. It’s based on a foundation of acceptance of where you are and is designed to erode the shame-based behaviors that feed our bad eating habits. The video intros each day combined with a wide array of tools have allowed me to make some fundamental changes in my relationships with food and eating that have puzzled me for decades... including a decade of studying Zen.
