YouTube Music App Reviews

  • YouTube music is a no

    By iamsmirkis
If this is the replacement to google play music, you swung and missed google. Major albums were released today and most are not available in this app/service. The fact that it is also a paid service makes it pathetic. You show me subscriber count but I can’t subscribe to artist? The negative list goes on
  • Fantastic app

    By bdsh.14
I have used Spotify, Apple Music. But nothing like YouTube music. It’s fantastic. There is nothing that I cannot get. I listen to songs that aren’t English. It has a plethora of songs - everything I can think of. I can search using artists, genre and lyrics. The playlists are also mostly relevant. I just wish there were student subscriptions.
  • Compared to how it used to be also vs just YouTube

    By Steampunkzter
I’d say no not worth it as you get the song you want but not the video soo say you like to watch the marshmallow friends video as you listen to the song well now if your going via personal mix it will only give the audio version meaning no video where YouTube still gives you the video you like and the music you like another issue is it’s so hard to navigate now it’s not worth the effort I went to look for personal mix and took me 3 min to find it after scrolling around for more than 5 scrolls .... why also looks very strange but that’s a preference thing I liked being able to see the big pictures now it’s all tiny and compact vs YouTube by itself I’d say just download YouTube it’s easyer and you get more out of it
  • About The New Update

    By Mexichinkajews1234
I personally don’t care for this newest update. The old layout and everything wasn’t great either, but atleast the “personalized” playlist was at the very top, so I could listen to songs I’ve liked and similar music if I just wanted to put something on quick. No I have to go rummaging through to find a specific album or make my own playlist; which I have no problem with making my own playlist, it was just nice to have a playlist at the ready. Along with that, it now shows me things I have absolutely no interest in. To my knowledge there is no way of having the app show less of that. It’s just not really helpful and is more of a step backwards in my opinion, similar to actual YouTube, and the actual YouTube app.
  • Audio/video toggle removed?

    By CobraBK
Why was the audio/video toggle recently removed?
  • Shuffle

    By michelleaparker
On the normal YouTube app there was a problem for me where when I had a big playlist (over 100 songs) the shuffle would break. It’d shuffle around a few songs but the rest would be untouched at the bottom, no matter what I did. So, I downloaded YouTube music and for a while it shuffled just fine. Until this update. Now this, too, is incompetent for shuffling and I’d greatly appreciate it if you could fix it. Thank you.
  • The revamp changes everything.

    By Alex Lerman
This is a great app, has the absolute biggest library(YouTube), option for video and all of this is just the early access version! Very excited to see what the future updates bring with them. Few complaints are: Remove the swipe to delete from playlists, or make it harder to trigger, like requiring a double swipe. This was an issue in GPM, still an issue here. Also add shuffle and repeat buttons on the play screen and the ability to add whole albums to playlists. Other than that, keep up the good work and keep expanding the official library, as it’s missing big albums like Stoney by post Malone and 4 your eyes only by J Cole and so on.
  • Newest version has two bugs

    By Wontloaad
The newest update does not let me see video views, and the sensitivity for clicking on videos is very high for some reason (keeps making me change videos on accident by barely touching it). The last version did not have these two major issues.
  • Better UI before recent updates

    By DeathEagle01
Let me start by saying two things. 1) I've been a YT Red subscriber for so many months that I've lost count. A lot of what people are complaining about on here can be summed up as "I want the features of the paid service without having to pay for it." I'll just leave that as is. 2) Before this recent issue I was greatly enjoying the service and would say it was a 5 ⭐️ app. This one issue, though, has literally changed the way I am able to use the app. My issue is a UI issue. As long as I've been a subscriber (until recently) the controls on the app worked in a specific way. You click a song, the song pops up and starts playing, the playlist is generated, and the controls (play, pause, forward, back, like, dislike etc.) were always at the bottom of the screen. It didn't matter if you had made the single song's album/video as the whole screen, or if you had the playlist up. Now, though, if you have the playlist up you lose all controls. It's just aggravating more than anything. Click song, song pops up in full screen with controls, click on list and lose controls, and then you have to click on the song (or up arrow) in order to get your controls back. I can't understand the logic of forcing that extra step every single time you just want to see your playlist. Maybe it's just me and everyone that I know that hates this change, but I find that hard to believe.
  • Why?!?

    By Jacob1647
I got a new update today like who said it was a good idea to do this my screen is totally changed and the app is less convenient it lacks the music choices that I had an hour ago and for something I pay over 10 dollars a month for is something I really want back
